Accessibility statement

The club builds this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what is in place today and what still needs work.

In place

  • Every menu, calendar day, form field, and button is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • The event calendar supports arrow keys to move between days and announces each date and its event count to screen readers.
  • Photo thumbnails sit inside descriptive links, so screen readers announce the photo position and album instead of a file name.
  • Animation on the home page stops for visitors whose system is set to reduce motion.
  • Pages use one level-one heading, ordered headings below it, and text that reflows on small screens and at high zoom.
  • Form errors are announced in text, never by color alone.
  • Checked on August 13, 2026 with axe-core 4.13 against WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 A and AA rules on every public page: no violations. Every text and background pair was measured and meets 4.5:1, or 3:1 for large text.

Known gaps

  • Migrated event photos do not yet have individual descriptions. Captions and alt text are being added album by album.
  • Scholarship PDFs still live on the club's previous platform and have not been checked for screen-reader tagging. Ask and we will send the content in another format.
  • Checkout runs on the payment provider's pages, which the club does not control.
